Preview. IGROWBIZ Payroll uses South African tax rules for 2024 to 2027 and has been tested against an independent calculation, but it has not yet been reviewed by a registered tax practitioner. Use it alongside your current payroll until that review is done. It does not yet submit to SARS (no EMP501, IRP5 or e-filing files). The employment equity reports prepare figures for you to capture and have not yet been reviewed by a labour-law practitioner. The UIF declaration file follows the Department’s published specification, and should be sent as a TEST file first.

Payroll and the requests that feed it, in one place.

Leave applications, claims and approvals flow straight into the pay run, so nothing is re-typed.

R

PAYE, UIF, SDL and ETI

South African tax tables for 2024 to 2027, medical credits, retirement deductions, bonuses and the Employment Tax Incentive, with every step of a calculation shown.

▤

Payslips and EMP201

Clear payslips with gross pay, leave balances and year-to-date figures, plus a monthly EMP201 in the layout of SARS’s form, with the Employment Tax Incentive carried forward and the due date.

✈

Leave self-service

Employees apply for leave with their balance in front of them. Weekends and public holidays are not counted, and sick leave over two days asks for a certificate.

☷

Claims with receipts and mileage

Employees submit claims with a photo of the receipt, and mileage is worked out from kilometres. Approved claims are paid with the next run as a non-taxable reimbursement.

✓

Manager approvals

Managers approve or reject for their own team, with a reason. Everything lands in one inbox and flows into the pay run automatically.

⚖

Part months and unpaid leave

New starters and leavers are paid for the days they worked and taxed correctly; approved unpaid leave reduces pay for the month.

▥

Reports you can print or download

A report centre with 12-month payroll history, month-on-month variance, leave balances and leave liability, claims history, starters and leavers, and more. Set the dates, see it on screen, download it as a spreadsheet file or print it.

⚑

Employment equity reports

Record each person’s occupational level, population group and gender once. Payroll prepares the figures for the EEA2 workforce profile and the EEA4 income differential statement in the Department of Employment and Labour’s layout, and checks what is missing before you capture them online.

⇄

Linked to Self-Service

With IGROWBIZ Self-Service your people use their own phones to apply for leave, submit claims and see their own payslips and tax certificates. Approved leave, claims and leave balances reach Payroll each month, so nothing is re-typed.

✉

UIF declaration file

Payroll prepares the monthly declaration for the Department of Employment and Labour in its electronic format, checks it before you send it, and opens an e-mail draft to the Department. Send a TEST file first, then LIVE.

⌂

Bank payment check

Checks every payment’s branch code, account number and account type, flags shared accounts, and prints a signed-off list. You load the file and release it at your bank yourself.

+

Allowances and gross pay

Add fixed monthly allowances such as housing or a cell phone. The payslip shows each one, the gross pay, and the employer’s UIF and skills development levy.

Questions we hear often

Is it SARS-compliant?

It follows SARS’s published 2026/27 rules (tax tables, medical credits, UIF, SDL and the Employment Tax Incentive) and its calculations agree with a separately written calculation across tens of thousands of test cases. It has not yet been reviewed by a registered tax practitioner, which is why we call it a preview. Please run it alongside your current payroll until that review is complete.

Does it submit to SARS?

Not yet. It prepares the monthly EMP201 in the layout of SARS’s form, and the UIF declaration file for the Department of Employment and Labour, for you to submit yourself. The EMP501 reconciliation, IRP5 and IT3(a) certificates and SARS submission files are planned next. If your people use Self-Service, you can upload the IRP5 PDFs made by your accountant or by SARS e@syFile there, so each person can download their own.

Does it do employment equity reporting?

It prepares the figures for the EEA2 workforce profile, recruitment and terminations, and for the EEA4 income differential statement, in the layout of the Department of Employment and Labour’s forms. You capture them on the Department’s online system, and your chief executive authorises the report. We recommend that a labour-law practitioner checks your first submission.

Does it pay salaries into the bank?

Not directly. Payroll checks your payment list and prints a signed-off copy, and you load the file and release it at your bank, so nobody can pay a batch by accident. Bank-specific file layouts are being added, so tell us which bank you use.

Can my employees use it from their own phones?

Yes, with IGROWBIZ Self-Service: a hosted portal where each person signs in on their own phone or computer to apply for leave, submit claims with receipts, and see their own payslips and tax certificates. Managers approve in the same place, and approved leave, claims and leave balances reach Payroll each month. In the Payroll demo, everything stays in your browser, so you can try the employee, manager and admin views by signing in as each.

Is the demo my own data?

No. You enter your name and work e-mail, and we send you a secure link to a private sample company with fictional people. Nothing you do is shared, and you can reset it at any time.

Where is my data stored?

In the demo, only in your own browser. Please do not enter real employee information in the demo. In the licensed Payroll your payroll data stays in the browser on your own computer, so IGROWBIZ never sees it, and you keep the backups. If you add Self-Service, the leave, claims, payslips and tax certificates your people use are stored on IGROWBIZ’s server, kept separate for each client.

What does it cost?

We are offering early access to a small number of employers. Tell us about your organisation and we will send a quote.
